I entered the Kreinik Challenge by the SFSNA. I was disappointed by the kind of thread scraps, I received. Yes they were very pretty, but when the threads varied from 1" to 7" at the most, it is quite hard to either use them in the sewing machine much less by hand!
After hours, trying to separate the best pieces, anywhere from 10" to 15", the last were the silver ones
which I did use. The others used were smaller pieces, but since I ended doing a needlepoint piece, it worked for me.I had a hard time searching for a project that would allow me to use scraps. I regret not being able to do something better and larger.
